Individual session: Toy Store

Littlemagictrain recommends “Toy Store” as the perfect activity for in your setting or for home learning.  There are so many ways to extend the learning in this adventure.  Create a shopping list and go on a trip to the shops together.  There are also so many opportunities to learn about size, length, volume, and weight as we have fun discovering what is inside the boxes.

In your adventure together, you will:

  • Wake up your Littlemagictrain and arrive outside the toy store.
  • Get your trolley as we need something to put all the boxes in.
  • Which box shall we open first?
  • Inside the tall, narrow red and yellow box, we find a toy soldier. Let’s march!
  • Who could be inside the heavy green box? It’s a very sad and grumpy bear – let’s work together to cheer him up.
  • Time to open the noisy pink and purple box. Can you hear the music?  Dancing dolls doing the Tango.  Let’s join the fun.
  • It’s getting late which means “tidy up time”. Put all the boxes back in the right place.
  • Say goodbye to all your new friends and wake up your Littlemagictrain.

There are so many opportunities for learning in the adventures. All the planning and hard work has been done for you and the sessions cover all areas of the Foundation Phase and the new EYFS.  These sessions are also a wonderful activity for children with additional learning needs.
