This is a wonderful adventure to discover the importance of the Amazon for your little ones. Learn about all the different animals and creepy crawlies that only live in the Amazon! Did you know that the Amazon spans Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana?   Talk about all the vegetables and fruit your little ones will see in the supermarket.  Did you know that 80% of all the food we eat originated from rainforests?

Amazon adventure

In this adventure together, you will:

  • Wake up the Littlemagictrain and arrive at the edge of the Amazon.
  • Get out your binoculars and look for creepy crawlies.
  • Spy a tree frog trying not to jump on the big scary spiders!
  • Relax by the river as you watch a turtle playing with butterflies.
  • Who is hanging in the trees watching the butterflies with you?
  • One of the monkeys is feeling a bit hungry – hope he isn’t a carnivore!
  • What a strange-looking bird is it a Toucan?
  • Hear snoring and discover a sleepy jaguar – don’t wake him!
  • Phew, we made it safely out of the Amazon.
  • Say goodbye to all your new friends and wake up your Littlemagictrain.

This adventure can be built up over 7 weeks giving you lots of opportunities to enhance your little ones learning around the theme of this adventure. All the planning and hard work have been done for you and the sessions cover all areas of the new EYFS, the Curriculum for Wales, and the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland.  These adventures are the perfect activity for ALL children as the resource is robust and adaptable to all needs.
